A Great Book for Evangelists
Edited by C.C. Case, Wm. J. Kirkpatrick and J.H. Hall
Published by the Ruebush-Kieffer Co., Dayton Virginia, 1911.
Hardback 8" x 6" approx. 130 pages. Delicate condition, Gray hymnal binding, printed cover and spine stamps, significant age-related wear and discoloration. Some sections loose, some damage to pages. Priced fairly to reflect the condition.
The storied Ruebush-Kieffer company was a powerhouse of Southern and Sacred music. In the period after Aldine Kieffer's death in 1904, the company was closely aligned with the Shenandoah Conservatory and College. Jacob Hall became a famous lyricist and hymnist, and taught many thousands of Southerners and Midwesterners the art of hymn singing. This is one of his earlier works, before the height of his fame. Any local hymnal collection needs this small addition to be complete.
Inscription on the inside fly reads "Fannie Gardner's Book, Weyers Cave, Va." There is a hand-typed church service bulletin reading "Union Church 10:00am . . . Order of Service. . . Mr. Harman preaching. . ."
