Magill's First Book in Virginia History

For the Use of Schools

J.R. Bell Company Publishers, Lynchburg, Va.

Hardback 8.5" x 5" approx. 200 pages. Poor condition, Gray cloth bound, printed cover and spine stamps, ssme mis-shaping of board corners, age-related wear and discoloration. Cover has become unglued from binding, some sections loose, some damage to pages. Priced fairly to reflect the condition.

This is a rare find of old school textbooks, the J.R. Bell Lynchburg 1908 edition is not easy to acquire. Though this copy is damaged it is still representative of early 20th century school textbooks, and is a fine reminder of what life was like for students in the age before consolidated schools.

All proceeds benefit Rocktown History (Harrisonburg-Rockingham Historical Society) a non-profit museum and educational institution. Pickup is available to save on shipping if desired. Book is available to examine in person at Rocktown History, in Dayton, Virginia. Call 540-879-2681 for more details.
