Sanders, Lera Cook

November 30, 1880, was an eventful day in the home of Watson Paine Cook and his wife, Mary Lucinda Johnson Cook, for on that day I made my arrival, the fourth and last of their children...This first home of mine was on a farm in a hollow at the headwaters of Turkey Creek, three miles west of Santa Fe in Maury County, Tennessee....
The story of Marvin Cook spans almost 100 years and includes such adventures as life in the hollow, Santa Fe in the 1880s, boyhood days, school rivalry, Vanderbilt College, Methodist preaching and circuit riding, church district, Board of Education, coming home to Tennessee and retirement.
This first-hand account was handwritten by Marvin Cook, transcribed and published in 1979 by his daughter, Lera Cook Sanders, and now, reprinted by Cook's grandson Jim Sanders in 2026.

80 pages,  black and white illustrations and photos; genealogy, 2026
