From the author:  The information in this publication is based on writings done by Emory H. Shoemaker after his wife, Mary Belle died in 1996.  He had retired from printing in 1983 and spent his time gardening and working around his home.  Emory wrote and his life experiences, courtship, marriage, career, and extensively about his military service in the combat zones of Europe during World War II.  His only occupation from age 11 until he retired and sold the Garrison Press was printing.
