The theme of this book is that in the first log meetinghouse of 1827, the second wood frame church built in 1881, and the third limestone building begun in 1941, the people at Weavers Mennonite Church have built a firm foundation on faith in God and participation in the Mennonite Church.  Joseph Funk composed the music for "How Firm a Foundation" at about the time Weavers was established in 1827.  The song has often been sung at Weavers and is found in the major song books used at the church throughout the years.
