Descendants of Valentine and Anna Maria Mangolt/Mangold/Mongold

It is believed that the vast majority of those persons who use the name Mongold, Mangold or Mongole and  have roots in West Virginia (formerly Virginia) are descendants of one Valentin Mangolt or Valentine Mangold, or an immigrant from Germany who came to America about 1766.  At that time there was a large settlement of German immigrants at Lovettsville, Loudoun County, Virginia, a village NW of Leesburg and near the Potomac River.  According to tax records, Valentine lived northwest of Lovettsville for a number of years.
