 Presents the personal narrative of Osborne Wilson's experiences from January 1861 to July 1865, detailing his daily life, the weather, and the war's events. The diaries, originally held in the Library of Virginia's archives, offer insight into the hardships faced by soldiers during the conflict and were published to make Wilson's story public. He served in the 31st Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment and was captured in April 1865. He was taken to Point Lookout, a prison camp in Maryland.
