A collection of records detailing supplies and services provided by Shenandoah County residents for the Revolutionary War effort, including horses, wagons, grain, and other necessities. These records were compiled by county courts from 1781 to 1783 after the passage of a 1780 law allowing the state to impress goods for the army. The certificates issued to individuals were used to claim reimbursement from the state and provide valuable, often unique, insights into the period and contributions of ordinary people.
